Susa Kern (AT)

Individual frames are designed and made from used spectacle parts.
The focus is on improvisation and creative design.

To begin with, you design the construction plan for your glasses using a drawing.
You then assemble the individual parts according to your plan.
The acetate parts come from Susa Kern’s studio on the one hand and
from flea market glasses on the other. When putting them together, you will learn and apply various craftsmanship techniques, including sawing, filing, cementing, sanding and polishing. Step by step, you will create your own personal workpiece.
Under professional guidance, you will learn:

– how to combine different eyewear parts,
– creative techniques to redesign old materials,
– how to use tools for design and assembly.

At the end of the workshop, you will not only hold an individually designed accessory in your hands, but also a unique expression of your creativity and
artistic vision.
Bring along: Openness, curiosity and a desire to improvise. We provide the material and tools, but you can also bring your own acetate spectacle parts.

Participation fee:
50 € per person
