Andrea Gava (ITA) + Grazer Impro Klub

The GIK – Grazer Impro Klub sees itself as a platform for the preservation, consolidation and cultivation of the musical practice of improvisation and genre-free musical experimentation. Spontaneously curated and moderated by Patrick Wurzwallner and populated with top-class guests, the GIK manifests a benevolent and, as far as possible, inclusive space for enabling a collective risk practice. Always on the last Monday of the month. Tell your friends, bring your instruments and be a part of the impro sensation!

Andrea Gava, born in Conegliano, Italy, 1990, is a musician, composer, performer, producer and sound designer. His work focuses on electroacoustic music and improvisation techniques.
He explores the topics of the unexpected, the musical value of broken, diy and discarded instruments
and objects, of the relationship between man and machine, between presence and absence. His research in
the field of electronic music has developed around no-input techniques and the use of feedback as a
fundamental sound element of his aesthetics. In his work he combines the languages of noise, abstract and
impenetrable, with rave music, which encourages the body to move, free jazz and its extreme improvisational
charge with the mathematic structures of electronic music, to create a noisy, dystopian and extreme ritual.
To dance and celebrate the end of the world.
He leaded workshops in high schools and universities about performing arts and contemporary music, created soundtracks for theatre plays, documentaries, short films, silent movies and contemporary dance
performances, took part as a performer for international artists and galleries. Among the others he collaborated with: Venice’s Biennale, FH Johanneum (Graz), Università di San Marino and UsmaRadio, Liceo
Statale G. Marconi, Cooperativa Sociale La Gagiandra, CreaArte Cantieri del Contemporaneo, Lago
Film Fest and many more. He plays concerts both on his own (with the monicker Andreij Rublev)
and with other projects (with Le Trou Electronique, Parallel, Zot Lukta, Kamal Sabran, Bienoise, Nick Acorne
and many more).
Beside his activity as a performer on stage, he creates online informative content on contemporary and research music, connecting artists and audience through talks, listening sessions, collaborative projects, broadcasts and much more.
